    Straw Museum

    Perhaps you have already discovered one or two references to the local straw industry in the hotel? Otherwise, you will learn everything about the history of the Freiämter hat braiding industry in this lovingly designed museum. Straw, this humble material, was the basis of a flourishing economic sector in our area in the 18th and 19th centuries. What had started as home work gradually developed into an export-oriented hat braiding industry. The museum is located not far from the resort in Wohlen.

    Vindonissa was the name of a Roman legionary camp on the territory of the present-day municipality of Windisch in the canton of Aargau, Switzerland. The Vindonissa Museum is an archaeological museum and displays the most important finds of the Roman period.
